1983 Franklin Mint Civil War Chess and Checker Set with Table Picture and Description:
1983 Franklin Mint Civil War Chess and Checker Set with Table This is the National Historical Society Civil War Chess Set. This set includes the chess board, 32 pewter pieces in Blue and Grey, the pewter and enamel checker set, certificates of authenticity (both the checkers and the chess set) and the table. The table has two beautiful pewter medallions that affix to both sides of the table cross piece. Each corner of the table top has decorative pewter corner pieces which feature a star surrounded by a wreath. The set is used and the board and table top include minor moving scratches. The chess set Certificates of Authenticity (COA) also feature a small initial on each one while those for the checkers are pristine. The COA for the chess pieces are boxed while the checkers are not. The photographs of the table feature the medallions and bubble wrapped legs. The set has been in storage for 10 years and I did not want to take it from the bubble wrap and assemble it in order to do a photograph and then again disassemble for shipping. The table has all parts and screws The checkers are housed in a beautiful wood box with brass hinges and lock, and features a plate engraved with "The Civil War Checkers Set by The Franklin Mint".
